I HAVE STARTED A FACEBOOK PAGE TO KEEP ALL OF THE PICTURES I HAVE OF MY OLD HOMETOWN. I ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM LINKING MY PHOTO ALBUM WITH THE BLOG AND DECIDED THIS WILL BE THE BEST AVENUE TO GO. SO IF YOU GO TO FACEBOOK AND TYPE IN......IMAGES OF MAZEPPA PA YOU WILL NOW FIND ALL OF THE PICTURES I ONCE HAD ON THIS BLOG. ALSO IF YOU HAVE PICTURES FROM THE MAZEPPA AREA THAT YOU CAN EMAIL TO ME I WOULD BE GLAD TO ADD THEM TO THE PHOTO ALBUM. SEND TO... mazeppa@ptd.net

2 YEARS AGO BINK AND I WERE WATCHING THE MEMORIAL DAY PARADE AND IT HIT ME......NOTHING WAS EVER DONE TO HONOR OUR HOMETOWN HERO , EDWARD SHANNON.  HE WAS KILLED IN WW1 AND JUST FELT SOMETHING SHOULD FINALLY BE DONE.  MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS NAMING THE BRIDGE AFTER HIM BUT THATS 50 YEARS OLD AND CRUMBLING UNDERNEATH.  WHILE ON A DAYTRIP WE TRAVELED ON AN HONORARY HIGHWAY AND THE LIGHT BULB WENT OFF.  I THANK VICKI GARINGER FOR SUPPLYING ALL THE MILITARY INFO WE NEEDED TO GIVE TO STEPHANIE.  I AM VERY PROUD TO LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT  NEXT MONTH THE SECTION OF ROAD FROM THE BRIDGE TO COLONEL JOHN KELLY WILL BE DESIGNATED THE HONORARY EDWARD SHANNON HIGHWAY.  I AM ATTACHING THE PROGRAM AND HOPE YOU CAN JOIN US.
