TODAY IN THE CREEK
I RECENTLY GOT A MESSAGE FROM MY OLD NEIGHBORS THE HOFFMAN'S , VIA MY NEPHEW, THAT I HAVEN'T BEEN PUTTING NEW POSTS ON THE BLOG. SO I DECIDED TO UPDATE MY 2015 FISHING SEASON. MY FIRST DAY OUT WAS THE BEGINING OF MAY AND CAUGHT OVER 20 THAT DAY INCLUDING A NICE BROWN TROUT. SINCE THEN I ONLY HAD ONE DAY OF DOUBLE DIGIT FISH BUT WHAT I AM LACKING QUANTITY I AM MAKING UP WITH IN QUALITY. SEVERAL NICE BROWN TROUT THIS YEAR AND A BEAUTIFUL SMALLMOUTH A FEW WEEKS AGO AND TODAY A 13 INCH RAINBOW. ADD IN THE 12 - 15 INCH CHUBS I HAVE CAUGHT AND IT'S BEEN A GOOD SEASON. BUT THEN ANY DAY IN THE CREEK IS GOOD AS LONG AS THERE IS PLENTY OF WILDLIFE AND THERE HAS BEEN PLENTY OF THAT AND EVEN SEEING SOME DEER THIS YEAR. HAD 2 FAWNS WALK RIGHT UP TO ME A FEW WEEKS AGO. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CREEK AND THEY NEVER SAW ME AS THEY WANDERED RIGHT UP TO THE CREEKS EDGE. LOTS OF DUCKS, GEESE. BALTIMORE ORIOLES, SCARLET TANGERS, SANDPIPERS AND OF COURSE THE 3 EAGLES WE HAVE IN MAZEPPA. TODAY I SWEAR THE 2 MATURE EAGLES WERE FOLLOWING ME UP AND DOWN THE CREEK. LAST WEEK A RACCOON WAS SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CREEK FEEDING ON SHELLFISH AND THAT WAS FUN TO WATCH. I HAVE YET TO CATCH A PICKERAL BUT I KNOW THAT WILL HAPPEN ANY DAY NOW.
