GOT BACK IN THE CREEK YESTERDAY BUT IT WAS OVER 70 DEGREES...HUMID AND SUNNY SO I KNEW IT WOULDN'T BE THE BEST DAY. BUT I DID SNAG 12 AND A NICE VARIETY WITH BLUE GILLS...ROCK BASS...SMALLMOUTHS AND FALL FISH. ODDLY 2 TRIPS TO THE CREEK NOW AND NO PICKERAL ALTHOUGH I DID HAVE ONE JUMP OFF ON ME. ADDING SOME PICS I TOOK AND THE FIRST IS THE SKY LOOKING OVER THE CREEK FIELD OF THE FARM I GREW UP ON. NEXT IS THE SUN FILTERING THROUGH THE TREES ON THE BEND OF THE CREEK AND THE NEXT IS LOOKING AT THE SUN AS I CONTINUED DOWN STREAM. THEN A GORGEOUS DRAGONFLY. SO ALL IN ALL PERCY IT WAS STILL A GREAT DAY OF SOLITUDE IN MAZEPPA. WHEN I HIT THE CREEK ALL YOU COULD HEAR WAS THE WATER TRICKLING. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

A MONTH
IT'S BEEN A MONTH PERCY BUT I FINALLY GOT BACK IN THE CREEK. MADE UP FOR LOST TIME TOO AS I SNAGGED 22 AND ONE WAS THE BIGGEST FALL FISH I EVER CAUGHT. 17 INCHES AND IT WAS A TRUE HAWG AS IT WEIGHED A TON. WHEN I HOOKED IT I HAD NO IDEA WHAT IT COULD BE AS IT WAS JUST DEAD WEIGHT. ALSO CAUGHT SOME SMALLMOUTHS INCLUDING THE NICE 14 INCHER I AM POSTING. THE FALL WILDFLOWERS ARE FEW AS THE FLOODING TOOK CARE OF THAT FOR THIS YEAR. LOTS OF KINGFISHERS TODAY AND SAW 3 DOE AND 2 YEARLINGS.
